The Creative Process Begins.

Once you have decided to hire Tammy Fink and Blue Water Designs, the excitement really begins. We anticipate that you have been envisioning what you would like to see in a design. And this is the part of the process where you get to share your vision with us. We are completely open to your input. If you don’t know what you want, that’s okay too. Just give us creative license, and we will deliver. Just to give you an idea of the kind of information we will need from you, aside from the type of product, we will need to know…

  • Who is your target audience?
  • What is your message?
  • How many pages for catalogs, brochures, and websites?
  • Is there a specific budget for the project?
  • Is there a soft or hard deadline for completion?
  • Is there an existing corporate brand that needs to be matched?
  • Do you have all existing logos in a vector (.eps) format?
  • Will you supply the photos, will we need to arrange a photoshoot, or can we use stock photos?

We will also need to discuss terms.

Blue Water Designs will put together a project agreement, which will contain a project courtesy budget cap. We charge an hourly rate. We realize that this can be a bit scarey for first time projects. We in no way expect a blank check for projects. However, because each project has it’s unique challenges in design. We don’t want to limit the number of revisions for the client. We have solved this dilemma with a guaranteed ‘courtesy budget cap’ for each project. We will agree upon a budget amount. And the project is guaranteed not to go over the budget, without a budget meeting. This assures that there will not be any budget surprises by either party. Once the agreement is signed, we will expect 50% of the agreed upon total project estimate.

Then, and this is our favorite part, we begin working on the initial concepts for your project.

The Proofing.

Once we have completed the first proof, we will arrange a quick phone meeting to discuss the designs. During this meeting you will receive the proofs via email for you to preview. You will have the opportunity for changes on the design, and additional input if needed. We will work to make your vision a reality…and begin on the final draft.

The Final Artwork.

When we finish the changes and the project has been approved. We will expect final payment. We will then send the print ready artwork to you or the printer of your choice via (email, ftp, or by CD at the clients expense). The final package will include all original artwork files and print ready layouts. Logos will be delivered in formats for web and print, and b/w versions available upon request.
